Stephenson, of Suffolk, with whom she made her home. She was the daughter of the late Watt Stephenson and Manda Stephenson and had lived in this neighborhood since childhood, moving with her brother and his family to Suffolk a few months ago. She was a consistent member of Millfield Church for many years, but when moving to Suffolk moved her membership into the Baptist church there - yet she never forgot her old church, her missionary societies, her friends and her loved ones in this community. She is survived by three sisters in this community, Mrs. W.K. Whitfield, Mrs. J.E. Hines and twin sister, Mrs. Rebecca Kitchen, one brother, W.C. Stephenson of Suffolk, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Her body was brought home and laid to rest in the old family graveyard near here Friday afternoon, August 31, there to await the Resurrection Morn. In the absence of Rev. F.O. Criminger, pastor of the Suffolk Baptist Church, the burial services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Hardcastle of the Suffolk Christian Church, assisted by Rev. W.G. Keith of Millfield. One of Miss Stephenson’s favorite songs was used "Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone" and "Nearer My God to Thee," both being sung by a small choir of friends from Suffolk and Millfield churches. Many beautiful flowers were placed upon the mound by loved ones and friends. To these three sisters and one brother who mourn their loss, and to other near relatives and friends, we express our deepest sympathy and may they be comforted by the great promises of Jesus and in believing that she is "At Rest".
