        William J. Steele. 
    [Special to The Times-Dispatch.] 

  SUFFOLK, VA., August 10.- William J. Steele, a well-to-do farmer of 
Nansemond county, died this afternoon at his home, near Hill's Point, 
aged seventy-nine.  Five daughters and one son survive him.  The deceased 
was a native of Ireland and had resided in Virginia thirty-five years.

native of Ireland, d. 10 Aug 1909, at home, near Hill's Point, age 79, 
interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery*,

The marriage of his daughter N. Ella STEELE, a native of Alleghany City, PA, 
   to John ADAMS, of that city, was given notice in "The Norfolk Virginian, " 
   Jan. 3, 1895.
