Stallings at his home near Buckhorn. Mr. Stallings is well known throughout the county and was a magistrate whose rulings were generally unquestioned. He was about 65 years of age. The funeral will occur to day, the interment being in the family burying ground. He was the father of Mr. Frank E. Stallings, clerk of the board of school trustees in Chuckatuck district. ****************************************************************************** JUSTICE STALLINGS' FUNERAL. - A large gathering of friends and former comrades in arms collected at the residence of the late James E. Stallings, near Buckhorn, to tender the last honor to his remains. The funeral was conducted at home by Rev. J.F. Deans, Windsor. The interment was in the old family burying ground, the following pallbearers serving: Mills H. Holland, Sr., John Rhodes, James W. Griggs, T.A. McClenney, John J.S. Branch and Carr D. Holland. The deceased was 69 years of age. His wife, to whom he was married forty four years ago, survives him. ****************************************************************************** THEY WANT HIS SON. - There is a prevalent sentiment with the constituency of the late Justice Stallings that he be succeeded in office by his son, Mr. Frank Stallings. His association with his father, they say, during many years of service, has rendered him well qualified for the position. He is also popular with the constables.
