Stallings Suffolk, Feb. 10. - The death of Suffolk's beloved former boy mayor, Moody E. Stallings, of pneumonia, following influenza, Monday night at 10 o'clock, has proved a blow to the whole community. He was a graduate of the Jefferson high school, and later took his degree in law at the Washington and Lee University. At the age of twenty-three Mr. Stallings was elected mayor of the city, with one of the largest majorities that any public officer in the city ever received. When the campaign for the new form of city government arose the young mayor threw his influence for the better form of government, and was one of its most ardent supporters. He has been engaged in the active practice of law for some years, and was regarded as one of the coming men of the community. The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the residence in Chestnut street, conducted by Rev. J. Arthur Winn.
