ARTHUR EDWARD STONE, JR.

   SUFFOLK - Arthur Edward Stone, Jr., 71, of the 300 block of Cedar St., a 
retired insurance agent, died April 19, 1988, in a Portsmouth nursing home.

   Mr. Stone, a native of Newport News, had retired from Gulf Life Insurance Co. 
after 20 years. He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church. He was a former 
member of the Life Underwriters Association.

   Survivors include his wife, Jane Klein Stone; two daughters, Judy S. Wyatt 
and Donna S. McCoy, both of Portsmouth; two sisters, Janet S. Grizzard of 
Hampton and Frances Balousek of Matteson, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

   The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral 
Home by the Rev. Paul Carmany. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family 
will be at his home.

   Memorial donations may be sent to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
