Smith, Sr., were held yesterday afternoon at the residence, West Washington and Clay Streets, and were conducted by Rev. John G. Truitt, pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church, of which Mrs. Smith and long been an active member. The casket was covered in a pall of Ascension lilies, white roses, lilies of the valley and ferns and there were numbers of beautiful floral offerings, among them being handsome designs from the Farmers Bank of Nansemond, Ladies Benevolent and Social Union of the Suffolk Christian Church, the Woman’s Auxiliary and Primary Department of the Sunday School, Silver Cross Circle of King’s Daughters’, and other organizations. Members of the church organizations and the King’s Daughters’ attended the services in a body. Rev. Mr. Truitt read the hymns "Abide With Me" and "How Firm a Foundations." Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were George Smith, Peyton Smith, of Capron, Va., Wallace R. Kilby, Bradford Kilby, Ralph Murphy, J.B. Johnson, of Capron, Jack W. Nurney, J. Thornton Withers. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Among the out of town people attending the funeral services were Mrs. John Alden, Miss Judith Alden, Jack and Norman Alden, all of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Johnson and Payton Smith of Capron, Mrs. Henley Parker and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hudgins of Norfolk. "Lunie" Luemma Virginia (PARKER; Mrs. Otis S.
