R.T. Grissom, pastor of Holy Neck Christian Church, and the Rev. George D. Alley, pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Smith, 73, died Friday at 4:45 p.m. at his home 307 Cedar Street after a long illness. He was a clerk for the Southern Oil Co. for 25 years until his retirement in 1946. He was a member of the Holy Neck Christian Church. The son of the late Oliver and Mrs. Laura Norfleet Smith, he was a native of Nansemond County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Otis Howell Smith; two daughters, Mrs. Bryon White of Richmond, and Mrs. T.W. Morgan Jr. of Suffolk; one sister, Mrs. J. Emmett Hines of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Richard White of Roanoke; Miss Betty Lou White of Richmond; Thomas W. Morgan III and Robert S. Morgan, both of Suffolk.
