WESLEY SMITH

Wesley Smith, 64, of 211 Dale Homes, husband of Norah Virginia Smith, died 
Tuesday at 9:20 am in a Portsmouth hospital.  He was a son of Clinton J. and 
Mrs. Florie Powell Smith and was a native of Nansemond County.  He had resided 
here for 23 years.  Mr. Smith was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.  In 
addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Elbert J. Jenkins 
of Arlington, Mrs. Daniel J. Shirella of Laurel, MD., and Mrs. E. L. Lewis and 
Mrs. Benjamin Harrison of Portsmouth; five sisters, Mrs. Hurley Hingerty, Mrs. 
R. C. Stowe, Mrs. Maude Riddick, Mrs. R. D. Wade and Mrs. C. J. Thompson of 
Suffolk; three brothers, Charlie Smith, Eddie Smith and Hersey Smith of 
Suffolk, and 12 grandchildren.  The body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home. 
Funeral arrangements are pending.

likely interred in Meadowbrook Memorial Garden, Driver (now Suffolk), 
"The Ledger Star" (Norfolk, VA)
