Nurney Resident Succumbs at 63 

  Comadore [sic; Commodore] Saunders, 63, died last night at his home of his 
niece, Mrs. Charlie Babb, at Nurney, Virginia, Nansemond County, after an 
illness of several months. 

  He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Rosa Brooks, Portsmouth, Mrs. Christine 
Branton of Goldsboro, N.C., Mrs. Essie Smith and Mrs. Pattie Brinkley of 
Nansemond County; two brothers, C.P. and J.G. Saunders of Portsmouth; several 
nieces and nephews. 

  The body was taken to the Hill Funeral Home, where funeral services will be 
conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. R.E. Brittle. 

  Burial will take place in the Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.

His WW-II draft card gives b. 2 Feb 1885. 

D.Cert. 14146 (Whaleyville #8) gives b. 28 Jan 1885, son of Benjamin & 
   Emily E. (HUNTER) SAUNDERS.
