All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Saunders Funeral Rites Yesterday Funeral services for Dudley Lewis Saunders were conducted at Oakland Christian Church 3:00 p.m, yesterday, by Dr. I.W. Johnson, assisted by Dr. John G. Truitt. The choir accompanied by Mrs. I.W. Johnson, sang "Abide With Me" and "My Faith Looks up to Thee." Miss Ruthanna Foard and Mrs. John G. Truitt accompanied by Mrs. Johnson, sang "Does Jesus Care." The pall was of white carnations and red roses. Pallbearers included C.W. Darden, L.F. Darden, D.C. Clements, F.C. Clements, Bob Wagner, W.K. Wagner, B. Lee Thompson and Herbert Mathews. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Members of Chuckatuck Lodge No. 77 conducted Masonic rites at the grave, interment being in the Oakland Church Cemetery.
