All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Frank Saunders' Rites Tomorrow Funeral services for Frank Austin Saunders, 66, local piano dealer and repair man, who died suddenly yesterday on an afternoon stroll, will be conducted tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph S. Gresham. Saunders collapsed on the Virginian Railroad track near Simpson's Restaurant while walking with his son, Frank Jr. Young Saunders rushed to the nearest telephone and called Mrs. Saunders, who, in turn, summoned Dr. Edward C. Joyner. The stricken man was dead when Dr. Joyner arrived, however. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Doris Saunders; one son. Frank A. Saunders, one daughter, Evelyn A. Saunders, all of this city; one brother, Walter A. Saunders of Milford, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Warren E. Moore of East Holden, Maine; one niece, Mrs. Gladys McLaughlin, also of East Holden; and one nephew, Olin Saunders, of Yonkers, N.Y. He was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church, of the John E. Martin Bible Class, and a member of Suffolk Lions Club. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Frank Saunders Buried Tuesday Funeral services for Frank Austin Saunders, who died near this city Sunday afternoon, were conducted yesterday morning at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph S. Gresham and the Rev. Graham C. McChesney. Burial was in Holly Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were O.L. Burkett, S.G. Howell, J. Melvin Lovelace, Dr. T. Wood Campbell, W.T. Pond, Paul van Valkenburgh, T.H. Birdsong, Jr., and Woodville Holton.
