Mr. Saunders was the son of the late James Parker and Caroline Beale Saunders of Nansemond County and was born Nov. 28, 1888, in the same house in which he died. The deceased was a member of Holy Neck Christian Church and was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Saunders leaves one sister, Mrs. C.J. Cutchin, of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the graveside in the old family plot near Franklin at 2 o’clock today. The Rev. I.W. Johnson of Suffolk and the Rev. R.D. Stephenson officiated.
