WILLIE LEE SAUNDERS 

   SUFFOLK - A funeral service for Willie Lee Saunders was conducted Friday at 
2 p.m. in I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley of 
Holland.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

   Saunders, 63, a luncheonette operator, died Wednesday at 4:15 a.m. in his 
home at 308 Military Road.

   The husband of Mrs. Rosa Nell Bunch Saunders, he was a son of Robert Lee 
and Mrs. Maggie Sue Hedgebeth Saunders of Isle of Wight County.

   A native of Southampton County, he operated Saunders Lunch 35 years.  He 
was a member of Holland Christian Church, Suffolk Elks Lodge 685, Knights of 
Pythias, Moose Lodge, and Travelers Protective Association Post P.

   Surviving, besides his widow, are two sons, Mack T. Saunders of Suffolk and 
Gordon Lee (Joe) Saunders of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Mrs. Linwood 
Holland of Suffolk, Mrs. Rabey Holland of Carrsville and Mrs. J.H. Strickland 
and Mrs. Robert W. Drew of Nansemond County; three brothers, Harvey L. 
Saunders and Johnnie Parker Saunders of Nansemond County and Robert Lee 
Saunders of Hampton; and four grandchildren.

Southampton Co. native, d. 25 Nov 1970, at home, Suffolk, age 63, 
interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block S, Lot 35*), Suffolk, 27 Nov 1970,
