Simons Funeral services for S.H. Simons were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock bv the Rev. W.H. Corbitt, the Rev. L.F. Paulette, and the Rev. W.V. Carroll at the Western Branch Baptist church. Members of the church choir, accompanied by Miss Nellie Mae Nelms, sang "Abide With Me," and "It Is Well With My Soul." There were many beautiful floral tributes. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies and pink rosebuds. Active pallbearers: John Henry Powell, Edward Simons, William Simons, Leonard Darden, Robert Hayes, J. S. Owens, Mills E. Godwin, and Harry James. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the church cemetery.
