She was a native of Washington, N.C., and widow of James Wesley Simmons. She was the daughter of the late George Banks and Virginia Eldridge Dixon Lipscomb. She is survived by two sons, James Wesley Simmons, Jr. and Herbert G. Simmons of Richmond and one grandson. A graveside service will be conductor in Cedar Hill Cemetery Friday at 2 p.m. The funeral procession will leave I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Mark Youndts.
