Tazewell Taylor, of Nansemond County, who died last night at midnight at her home in the county, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Bethlehem Christian Church, by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor, assisted by Dr. John G. Truitt, and Dr. I.W. Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be close relatives, Henry and Calvin Taylor, Taylor Powell, Ned Cross, Milton Epperson, Leonard Smith, Jr., Sidney Powell, Jr., and H.L. Joyner, Jr. Members of the Taylor Progressive Bible Class of Bethlehem Christian Church, of which Mr. Taylor has been teacher for many years, friends and neighbors will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of Francis and Rebecca Monell of the county and a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, and was until recently active in the church work for more than half a century. Her many charities and her spirit of neighborliness and hospitality, made her home for many years a gathering place for her friends and neighbors. She was also an active member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church and of the Women’s Bible Class. Last year Mr. and Mrs. Taylor celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons John R. Taylor, of Suffolk and Jesse C. Taylor, of Ironton, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. A.M. Griggs and Mrs. Charlie Powell, of the county, and Mrs. A.W. Dudley, of Redjacket, W.Va., and the following grandchildren; Mrs. Milton Epperson, Mrs. Ned Cross, Mrs. Christopher Cross, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Ella Louise, and Barbara Griggs, Henry, Dorothy, Calvin and John R. Taylor, Virginia Ware Taylor, Otis, Taylor, and Mary Sue Powell, all of Nansemond County; Mrs. Virginia Yates, Jams and Lena Owens, of West Virginia, and a number of great-grandchildren.
