Taylor The funeral services of Thomas Taylor were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the grave in the Holland Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Hook. Active pallbearers were Elton Taylor, Wilbur Taylor, Robert Johnson, N.M. White, P.D. Taylor, R.J. Taylor; honorary, E.T. Holland, E.H. Johnson, J.P. Dalton, J.T. Harrell, S.P. Whitfield, B.J. It is possible that he was the Thomas P. TAYLOR, son of James P. & "Sallie" Sarah Ann (PARKER) TAYLOR, who m. Sarah E. ELLIS, daughter of Marmaduke & Rosella, ca. 1870 in Gates Co., NC. James P. TAYLOR was a Confederate veteran, having served as a sergeant in Co. E, 33rd NC Inf. He farmed in Gates Co., NC. It is possible that pallbearer R.J. Taylor is identical with Robert J. TAYLOR (1872 - 1946), son of Jacob & Betty (HARE) TAYLOR, buried in Whaleyville Methodist Church Cemetery.
