THOMAS Suffolk, Nov. 30 - Funeral services for Clarence Thomas, killed by an automobile on the Suffolk-Portsmouth highway Saturday night, were held Monday afternoon at the home in Nansemond, by the Rev. Dr. W.W. Staley. Active pallbearers were Paul S. Blandford, Jr., R.L. Newton, Jack Hargraves, Alton Gilbert, J.E. Hargraves, R.C. Phelps, Ross Barnes, Eugene Porter. Honorary, Luther Gregory, Robert Stancell, Leroy Chappell, Cadd Moore, Hubert Jones, Cliff Pierce. Interment was made in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Clarence L. THOMAS, student, Farmville native, struck by car 26 Nov 1927, age 18, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block I, Lot 26*), Suffolk, 28 Nov 1927, donated obit, publication unknown *His parents, George L. & "Nannie" Blanton (POLLARD) THOMAS, are buried in the same lot.
