All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Teddy Tomlin Is Dead at 70; Rites Thursday Teddy Tomlin, 70, retired farmer of Holland, died today at 4 a.m. at the Obici Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at the graveside in Holland Cemetery by the Rev. Carl Ousley, pastor of the Holland Baptist church, and the Rev. W.H. Corbitt, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church. The funeral procession will leave the Hill Funeral Home for the cemetery at 2:30 p.m. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. He was a member of the Holland Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church, and was the son of the late James A. and Frances Bradshaw Tomlin of Nansemond County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Tomlin of the home, a daughter, Mrs. I.O. Ellis of Nansemond County; two sons, C.H. Tomlin of Holland, J.T. Tomlin of Whaleyville; a sister, Mrs. R. B. Journigan of Courtland, a half sister, Mrs. Ella Wilkins of Portsmouth; a brother, A.G. Tomlin of Carrsville; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
