C. Ambrose Turner, pastor of Whisner Methodist church, Blacksburg, died early yesterday in a Christiansburg hospital after a short illness. The Rev. Mr. Turner is the former pastor of East York Methodist church in the Messick area, and Mrs. Turner is a sister of Mrs. Frances Wells Rowe of this city. She is survived also by her husband, a son, C.A. Turner, III, her mother, Mrs. George H. Wells of Suffolk, and three brothers, Herman O., Jake E., and George I. Wells, all of Suffolk. Funeral services will be held at Whisner Memorial Methodist church, Blacksburg, at 2:30 this afternoon and burial will be tomorrow afternoon in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. ****************************************************************************** MRS. LUCY WELLS TURNER Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Wells Turner, formerly of Suffolk, who died Saturday at her home in Blacksburg [sic*], were held at 2 o'clock today at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Dr. John H. Blakemore, Dr. R.P. Riddick and Rev. C.T. Topping officiated. The pall was of Easter lilies, red roses and white carnations and snapdragons. Pallbearers were R.D. Bell, R.V. Evans, Thomas H. Birdsong, Jr., Dr. G.R. Joyner, Marshall Andrews, P.M. Burton, Thomas C. Harrell and Vernon O. Ford.
