Turner Suffolk, Sept. 26. - William David Turner, 63, formerly of Suffolk, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.L. McCain, in Messick, after an illness of several months. Pending the announcement of funeral arrangements, the body was taken to the I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Turner, of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. McCain; Mrs. Curtis Boyce, Suffolk, and Mrs. J.D. Antonious, San Antonio, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. L.A. Parlin, of Alameda, Calif.; stepson, H.J. Alexander, USN; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Mae Turner, of Suffolk, and three brothers, J.H. Turner and Howard L. Turner, Franklin, and Joseph G. Turner, Marion. ****************************************************************************** Former Suffolk Resident Dies William David Turner, aged 63, formerly of Suffolk, died today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.L. McCain in Messick, Va., after an illness of several months. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth Turner, of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis Boyce of Suffolk, Mrs. J.L. McCain of Messick, Virginia, and Mrs. J.D. Antinious of Alameda, California; one step-son, H.A. [sic; H.W.] Alexander, U.S. Navy; one sister, Mrs. Lilly Mae Turner, of Suffolk; three brothers: J.H. Turner, of Franklin; Howard L. Turner, Franklin; Joseph G. Turner, Marion, Virginia. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. ****************************************************************************** Last Rites for W. D. Turner Conducted Funeral services for William David Turner were conducted at 2:30, Wednesday afternoon, at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home by Dr. J.G. Truitt. Mrs. Truitt and Miss Ruthanna Ford [sic; Foard], accompanied by Mrs. Julian Goodwin, sang "Does Jesus Care" and "The Old Rugged Cross." The casket was covered with gladiolas, chrysanthemums, and red roses. Pallbearers were A.T. Boyce, J.I. Jones, W. Jasper Oliver, John Miles, W.E. Duke and A.R. Taylor. Honorary were friends of the family. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
