T. Vaughn (sic) last Wednesday the 13th inst. He had gone with his children to a protracted meeting at South Quay Baptist Church. He was taken very ill with congestive chills and perhaps heart trouble in the forenoon, and with the kind attention of loving friends and the medical treatment of skilled doctors he continued to persevere till he expired at 10 o’clock that night. He was so ill he could not be taken home but was borne by friends on a lounge to Mr. Tim Johnson’s near the church. And when she enquired of his condition, he could but feebly say, "Kitten, I’m most gone." Bro. Vaughn [sic] was a good man in the various relations of life, as a husband, father, neighbor and friend. And though of another denomination, [sic] he often attended our church and [...] When with [...] prayer and monthly services. He was often at our place, was usually cheerful, his countenance expressing peace and satisfaction. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where his funeral and burial took place the 15th inst. R.H.
