Vanderslice Dead Here at 50 George Robert Vanderslice, aged 50, died at 1 o'clock this afternoon at his home on Virginia Avenue after a lingering illness. He was the son of Mrs. Susie Baker Vanderslice and husband of Mrs. Grace Gale Vanderslice. ****************************************************************************** Rites Set For G. W. [sic; R.] Vanderslice Funeral services for George R. Vanderslice, 50, who died yesterday at 1:30 o'clock at his home on Virginia Avenue after an illness of several months, will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. The services will be conducted at the Baker Funeral Home by the Rev. John Blakemore. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Gale Vanderslice; his mother, Mrs. Susie Baker Vanderslice; a brother, Samuel P. Vanderslice of Arlington; a sister, Mrs. George K. Eberwine of Drivers; and an uncle, V.L. Baker of Suffolk. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** G. R. Vanderslice Buried Here Today Funeral services for George R. Vanderslice, who died at his home on Virginia Avenue Thursday after an illness of several months, were conducted this morning at 11 o'clock at the Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. John Blakemore, pastor of the Main Street Methodist Church, officiated. The casket was covered with a pall of white asters, white gladioli and Easter lilies. Mrs. Melba Gilliam, accompanied by Frank Saunders, sang "Shadow." Pallbearers were Benny P. Hedspeth, Robert W. Nelms, L. Vail and Jamee L. McLemore, T.B. Norris, Bruce Eberwine, Alvin Grant, George K. Eberwine, Jr. Burial took place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
