WEST DIES/RITES TOMORROW Mrs. Katherine Beamon West, daughter of the late Dr. John Richard Beamon and Alida Norfleet Beamon, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hall F. Birdsong, 719 North Broad Street at 5 a.m. today. Mrs. West had recently undergone surgery. She is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Hall Birdsong, Mrs. Henry B. Crocker and Mrs. William H. Reid, all of Suffolk; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jack C. West, III, ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. West was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church, and a member of the board of the Church. She was a Past President of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service for 25 years; a charter member of the Suffolk Woman’s Club, Suffolk Book Club, Suffolk Social Club and Constantia Chapter of Daughter’s of the American Revolution. Funeral services will be conducted at Oxford Methodist Church Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Woodrow Laine and the Rev. Edgar A. Potts, of Norfolk. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to funeral. Members of church board are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. The West Bible Class is requested to attend in a body. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Katherine (BEAMON; Mrs. Joshua C.
