She was the daughter of the late George W. and Louella Turnley Howell, of Gates County and Henrico County, North Carolina. Mrs. Westnedge is survived by a son, Harry V. Westnedge of Suffolk; three sisters, Miss Ruth Howell, Miss Fanny Howell and Mrs. George Howerton, of Suffolk; one brother, John A. Howell of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Edwin H. Westnedge, Kenneth Lee Westnedge, of Suffolk, and Harry V. Westnedge, Jr., U.S. Air Force, Salina, Kansas; five nieces and four nephews. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the King's Servant Sunday School Class. Until her recent illness she was active in church work. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Lester Lane oficiatlng. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held For Mrs. Westnedge Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Howell Westnedge, who died Saturday morning at Lakeview Hospital following a long illness, were held at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Lester Lane officiated and burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. "Living For Jesus" and "Have Thine Own Way Lord" were sung by Mrs. Wortley Spivey and Mrs. Claudia Jacobs, accompanied by Mrs. W.F. Whitley. The pall was of gardenias, white carnations and red roses. Pallbearers were John A. Howell, Jr., James Howell, George Howerton, Jr., C.G. Skinner, B.F. Rawles, and Burke Howell.
