(Dick) White, athletic director of the Suffolk High School, died today at 6:30 a.m. at the Obici Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was 49 years old. Miss White had been in the teaching profession for more than 20 years, having taught before her marriage in the Courtland High School, and for five years in the Suffolk High School, where she headed the mathematics department at the time of her death. She was a sponsor of the Civic Samertian Tri-Hi Y Club at the School and the 8th Grade sponsor. She was also a member of the Main Street Methodist Church and the daughter of the late Dr. Benjamin Franklin Babb and Bertha White Babb, of Ivor. Survivors in addition to her husband are a daughter, Alice L. White, two sons, Lewis R. White, Jr., and Herbert Franklin White, all of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Lula May Conner of Norfolk, and Mrs. Bertha White Smith of Richmond; three brothers, Charles Babb of Norfolk, Benjamin F. Babb, Jr., and Shelton H. Babb of Ivor. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Main Street Methodist Church by the Rev. George S. Lightner, pastor. The body will be taken from the Baker Funeral Home to the church one hour before the funeral services. Members of the Suffolk Educational Association and the Civic Samertian Tri-Hi Y are requested to attend the services in a group. Ellen (BABB; Mrs. Lewis R.
