White, 58, of 307 Kilby Avenue, who died yesterday at Virgilina, where he was a railway telegraph operator, will be held at the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Ivan Hart, assistant pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate and burial is to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Lee White; two daughters, Mrs. M.L. Rountree, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Walter H. Allison, of Nansemond County; two sons, Robert and Macon White of Suffolk; a sister, Mrs. John Hadden, of Toronto, Canada, and seven grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** White Services Held Yesterday Funeral services for John E. White, of Kilby Avenue, who died Sunday at Virgilina, were conducted at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Ivan Hart officiating. Mrs. Archie Smither and Ben Stevenson, accompanied by Mrs. Julian Goodwin, sang, "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Abide With Me." The pall was of Easter lilies, white asters and red roses. Pallbearers were J.W. White, . J. [sic] Oliver, L.S. Burton, E.J. Sitterson, C.M. Rountree, Floyd Lilly, J.A. Mann and H.O. McClenny. Masonic rites were conducted at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
