Watson Shelley Burch Watson, 74, of 204 S. Broad St. died Monday in a hospital. He was a native of Capron and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and Suffolk Masonic Lodge 30. He had retired from Southgate Foods as a production manager and was the husband of the late Alice Whitley Watson. Survivors include a daughter, Dolly W. Carr of Suffolk; a son, the Rev. Shelley B. Watson Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Terry E. Watson of Emporia and Laurice J. Watson of Arlington; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11 a m. Thursday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Christian Haydinger. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home has charge. It states that he was named for Thaddeus Augustus BURCH (1876 - 1936) of Baltimore, MD, a friend of his father's. Its appears that nearly an inch of dirt had been swept from his & his wife's gravestones for the photos.
