Watkins Buried Here Saturday Funeral services for Milton [sic; Milson] Meredith Watkins were conducted at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery Saturday at 3 p.m. by Dr. R.E. Brittle, pastor of the Bethlehem Christian Church. The casket was covered with a pall of red carnations and white carnations. Active pallbearers were John B. Pinner, Jr., Walter Hundley, Marvin Whitley, Henry Rawls, N.T. Gray, Jr., Dr. E.C. Joyner, Joseph Cross and C.C. WATKINS, was a Confederate veteran, serving as the first Capt. of Co. D, 16th VA Infantry. He had served as 2nd Lt. in the militia since 1837. He 1m. Jinsy DARDEN. Virginia's first husband, Graves NIBLETT, served as a private in Co. D, 16th VA Infantry. He was WIA 19 Aug 1864 at the Davis farm, Dinwiddie Co.; no further record.
