DOROTHY SUE BABB WHITLEY

   WINDSOR - Mrs. Dorothy Sue Babb Whitley, 58, of Route 1 died Wednesday at 
9:35 a.m. in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness.

   A native of Nansemond County, she was a member of Woodland Methodist church 
and its Adult Ladies Class and Colosse Woman’s Missionary Society.

   She was a daughter of the late James Edward and Mrs. Ida Byrd Babb.

   Surviving are her husband, Norman Ralph Whitley; four sisters, Mrs. Nelson 
T. Gardner of Nansemond County, Mrs. W.H. Matthews and Miss Frances Babb of 
Suffolk and Mrs. Walter C. Harrell of Portsmouth; and three brothers, James E. 
Babb of Suffolk, Millard N. Babb of Newport News and Henry W. Babb of Richmond.

   A funeral service was conducted Friday at 4 p.m. in I.O. Hill and Co. 
Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Robert L. Consolvo and the Rev. Ward L. 
Donat.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.  The family was at 304 
Lida Ave., Sadler Heights, Suffolk.
