WITHERS SUFFOLK - Mrs. Phoebe Jones Withers, 79, died Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Nursing Home. A native of Suffolk, she was a daughter of William Henry Jones Jr. and Mrs. Sallie Virginia Jones and the widow of John Thornton Withers, she was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Suffolk and the Suffolk Woman's Club. She is survived by a son, William Jones Withers of New York City; three daughters, [Mrs. Mary Taylor Withers Birdsong of Suffolk,] Mrs. Doris Withers McNeal of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. Phoebe Withers Field of Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Horace W. Phillips of Hardeeville, S.C.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home in charge. ****************************************************************************** Withers Funeral Will Be Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Phoebe Jones Withers, member of an old and prominent Suffolk family, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Henry C. Barton, rector, of Birmingham, Ala. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Withers, 79, died Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Nursing Home, Suffolk.
