All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Mary Wills Died Saturday Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Johnson Wills, age 80 years, widow of the late Thomas Linwood [sic; Leonard] Wills, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.E. Dale, of Wilroy Rd., near Suffolk, at 11:45 a.m. Saturday. She was the daughter of the late Eli B. Johnson and Kiseah Archer Johnson, both of Nansemond County. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. R.C. Mizelle, of Hampton; Mrs. E.E. Dale, RFD Suffolk; Mrs. J.F. Worrell, Sr., of Nansemond County; and Mrs. M.H. Robertson, of Windsor. Also two sons: Curtis L. Wills and Henry E. Wills, both of Nansemond County; one brother, Mr. John Johnson, of Norfolk; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces. She was the oldest member of Providence Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of Providence church. The body was brought to the I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home where it will remain until Monday at 1:30 p.m., at which time it will be taken to the Providence Methodist Church to lie in state until time for the funeral. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. by the pastor, the Rev. Ward Donat, and the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of the Bethlehem Christian Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
