Wilkins Funeral services for George Wallace Wilkins, who died Saturday, were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert B. Marr, pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Luther Wilkins, Otis Wilkins, Aubrey Wilkins, W.T. Bolton, L.G. Cones Jr., O.B. Davis, B.F. Jernigan, William J. Baines, J. Ryland Baines and Arthur L. Herrick. George Wallace WILKINS, retired peanut-picker machinist, b. 10 Jan 1877*, Nansemond Co., d. 9 Mar 1963, at home, Suffolk, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block I, Lot 41*), Suffolk, 6 Feb 1963, "Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Vol. 41, No. 61, Tues., Mar. 12, 1963, p. 3 *Cedar Hill list, an extension of the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/nansemond/cemeteries/cedar_v.txt He shares a gravestone with both wives, sisters Nora M. & Lucy J. The 1880 Census - Cypress Dist., Nan.Co. - gives age 7. His parents, George C. & "Peggy" Margaret Ann (KELLY) WILKINS, are buried in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
