JESSIE LYONIA WILLIAMS

JESSIE WILLIAMS DIES AT 74 IN NANSEMOND

   Suffolk, July 5 - Jessie Lyonia Williams, prominent Nansemond County 
farmer, died today at 1 p.m. at his home in Kimberly, near Suffolk, after a 
long illness.  He was 74 years old.

   Mr. Williams, a lifelong resident of Nansemond County was a son of the late 
Nathaniel Eugene Williams and Fannie Hingerty Williams.  He was a trustee of 
Providence Methodist Church, a charter member of the King’s Fork Ruritan Club 
and a member of the Farm Bureau.

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mignon J. Williams; a son, Jesse L. 
Williams, Jr., of Nansemond county; two daughters, Mrs. Charles H. Williams 
and Mrs. Felix J. Troiano, of Nansemond County; two brothers, Henly N. 
Williams and Chesley Powell, of Nansemond County; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie 
Pierce and Mrs. E.P. Tadlock, of Nansemond County, and five grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Providence 
Methodist Church by the Rev. Ward Donat, pastor, and the Rev. R.E. Brittle, 
pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church.  Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

   The body will be taken from the Baker Funeral Home to the church one hour 
prior to the funeral service.
