WILROY Miss Marguerite Wilroy was called to Portsmouth this morning by the sudden death of her brother, John F. Wilroy, who died suddenly at his home in that city last night. Mr. Wilroy, who was 52 years of age, was the son of the late John C. and Mrs. Katherine* Wilroy, prominent Nansemond County people, and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Brinkley Wilroy; a son, John F. Wilroy, Jr., and two daughters, Misses Jessie and Frances Wilroy, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mrs. Amos P. Pope of Drewryville, Mrs. Wallace White of Boykins and Miss Marguerite Wilroy of this town; four brothers, J. Carl Wilroy of Suffolk, Captain T.N. Wilroy of Calveston, Texas, L.H. and J.L. Wilroy of Chester, Penn. Arrangements for the funeral had not been completed this morning. John Francis WILROY, farmer, b. 17 Nov 1881, Nansemond Co., d. 19 Apr 1934, at home, Portsmouth*, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (umarked*), Suffolk, 21 Apr 1934, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Apr. 20, 1934 *Additional information: Place of death given as King St., West Haven, Norfolk Co., on Bureau of Vital Statistics {BVS} D.Cert. 1934 1365-10153; Westhaven is now part of the City of Portsmouth. Cemetery from death certificate; not given in obit. His widow d. 26 May 1934, in Drewryville, of Leukemia. Her D.Cert. gives only buried in Suffolk.
