WOMBLE Mrs. Arthur Mae Gregory Womble, 49, of 407 Elizabeth St. died Friday at 2:10 a.m. in a hospital. A native of Hertford County, N.C., she was a daughter of Arthur and Mrs. Mary Stallings Gregory. She was a member of First Baptist Church and owned and operated Womble's Grill on Windsor Road. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul Lee Everett III of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a son, Bobby Gregory Womble of Emporia; two sisters, Mrs. Everett Hoggard of Tunis, N.C., and Mrs. Robert Newsome of Winton, N.C.; a half brother, Leon Piland of Ahoskie; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. K. Donald Berg. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. (Find a Grave Cemetery ID: 2426768) Her widowed mother Mary (STALLINGS) GREGORY (1890 - 1969) 2m. Howell Abe PILAND 3 Jan 1924; Suffolk M.Reg. #4 gives daughter of John N. & Fannie STALLINGS. Rather her parents were Nathan E. & Mary Fannie (WATSON) STALLINGS. Her D.Cert. states she was buried in Sandy Cross Church Cemetery, Perquimans Co., NC, but she is marked with her first husband.
