I. Winborne, Victim Of Ptomaine Poison, Expired While At Work. Suffolk, Va., Oct. 12. - (Special.) - As the result of ptomaine poison, caused by eating Boston beans, Philip I. Winborne died very suddenly this afternoon at his home, Pinner and Pearl streets. Mr. Winborne ate the beans for supper last night. This morning he attended to his work and was in his usual good health. A little before lunch time he was taken ill, and, despite medical attention, died at 3:30 o'clock. The funeral will take place at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow (Friday) afternoon from the Main Street Methodist church. The deceased is survived by a widow, who was Miss Culley, and four children, Culley, Mary, Bessie and Nannie. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters. Mr. Winborne was born near Buckhorn. He was 46 years old last January. He leaves $1,000 life insurance. ****************************************************************************** SUDDEN DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN CITIZEN. Mr. Philip Winborne, a well-known and popular citizen of Suffolk, died suddenly at his home at the corner of Pinner and Pearl streets this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, from acute indigestion, brought on from a hearty supper of canned beans, it is thought. Mr. Winborne was apparently well this morning, but was taken ill at work and had to be brought home. He grew rapidly worse, and all remedies proved unavailing. He was forty-six years of age, and leaves a wife, who was Miss Culley, four children, Culley, Mary and two younger children. The stricken family have the sympathy of the community in their sudden bereavement. The arrangements for the funeral will be made later.
