She was the widow of George C. Wright and daughter of the late James Thomas and Effa Duke Parker and was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Beulah Pulley of Suffolk, Mrs. Ruth Shan of Mineola, N.Y., Mrs. Louise Wilson and Mrs. Beryl Coley of Burlington, N.C., Mrs. Daphney Mattson and Mrs. Burnell Riddle of Hampton; one son, James Thomas Raby of Hyattsville, Md.; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Carter officiating. George's father, James Madison DUKE, was a Confederate veteran, serving as a private in Co. I, 14th VA Infantry. D.Cert. 77-014361 Her second husband, Job Savage RABEY (1870 - 1930), is buried with his parents, Andrew Jackson & Emeline Elizabeth (SAVAGE) RABEY, in a RABEY family cemetery on Copeland Rd. (Rt. 627). Andrew was a Confederate veteran, serving as a private in Co. I, 41st VA Infantry, then as the 1st sergeant of a guerilla band, and finally in the Commissary Department.
