A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a member of Providence Methodist Church, and treasurer of its Men’s Bible Class, and member of King’s Fork Ruritan Club. He was the husband of Mrs. Olive Wills Worrell and a son of Josiah and Mrs. Susie Pinner Worrell. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Louis Roeder of Hopewell and Mrs. Percy Pierce of Suffolk; a son, Joseph Franklin Worrell, Jr. of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. L.W. Tucker of Hampton and Mrs. Margaret Goeger of Felton, Del.; a brother, Felton P. Worrell of Windsor; and six grandchildren. The body was taken to I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home.
