Will of James Henry Langston of Whaleyville, Nansemond Co VA 1836-1921 From Nansemond County Will Book 8 ------------------------------------------------------ JH Langston's Will I, James H. Langston of the County of Nansemond, State of Virginia, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make ordain publish and declare this paper writing to be my last will and testament. 1st I direct that all my funeral charges be paid. 2nd I loan to my wife Primmie Langston my farm, estimated to contain one hundred and sixty nine acres to her during her natural life, except one acre for the burial ground where it is now located, at her death I give and bequeath the said farm, except the on eacre for the the burial ground, to my son James S. Langston to him and his heirs forever, provided the said James S. Langston takes care of and supports my wife Primmie Langston during her life, and provided further, that at the death of wife, said James S. Langston to pay to each of my then living children, except C.A. Langston, Twenty five Dollars, each to-wit: M.D. Langston, Maggie the widow of Whit Hicks, Anna, the wife of Willie Boon, Alexander Langston, Alma the wife of Dempsey Drake, Primmie C. the wife of Eules Butler, Pearl the wife of Exum Holland, and George Langston. 3rd As I educated C.A. Langston I have nothing more to give and bequeath to him. 4th I direct that my chattel estate, household and kitchen furniture to be sold and that the proceeds thereof be equally divided among my living children.
