P. Jordan, Executrix. The will of Mrs. Mary L.D. Miner was probated in city circuit court yesterday afternoon with Mrs. Margaret W. (Mrs. Lem P.) Jordan qualifying as executrix. Mrs. Jordan was recognized for a bond of $75,000 without security, in accordance with instructions of the will. The entire estate is to be kept intact until the death of Mrs. Miner's mother, Mrs. Margaret A. Delk, aged 91, after which the document calls for the establishment of trust funds for Victor H. Browne, a nephew; Margaret J. Causey, a niece; and Raleigh Martin, a ward. The principal part of the estate will go to Mrs. Margaret W. Jordan, a sister. Cash gifts of $1,000 are provided for Mrs. Frances Quimby Hutchins, a friend, and Mrs. Elise Urquhart Holladay, a cousin, and the sum of $2,500 is left to St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal church, in which Mrs, Miner was an active worker and leader for many years. A bequest of $500 each is granted James B. Joynes and Walter F. Price "as an expression of my appreciation of their ever loyal and faithful friendship to my late husband." The will was dated January 20, 1932, and was witnessed by J.E. Goodwin and W.P. Lipscomb. An appendage, dated March 18, 1933, instructed her sister, Mrs. Margaret W. Jordan, to carry out her wishes, as expressed in the will of January 20, 1932. The first provision of the document provided for the payment of all just debts. The second gave all household furniture and silverware to her sister, Mrs. Margaret W. Jordan. The third gave all jewelry to her niece, Margaret J. Causey. The fourth gave a small mahogany desk to her cousin, Elise Urquhart Holladay. The fifth, a steel engraving, "Pocahontas' Marriage" was given "to my friend, Frances Quimby Hutchins." The sixth gave to Frances L. Hutchins "a desk and chair given my late husband by her great-aunt, Mrs. F.C. Mundy." The seventh provision stated, "I wish the residue of my estate to be kept intact until the death of my mother, Margaret A. Delk, and direct my executrix to provide her with every need and comfort out of the income therefrom, during the remainder of her life. I give unto my sister, the said Margaret W. Jordan, the residue of such income during the said period. The eighth article of the will makes the following bequests upon the death of her mother: A. To Farmers Bank of Nansemond. as trustee, 50 shares of the stock of the A.B. Miner Co., Inc., or its equivalent in the event of prior liquidation, the net income from which shall be paid to Victor H. Browne, a nephew, during the term of his life. The trust is to continue for the benefit of his children until the youngest attains the age of 21 years, but in the event he should die without issue surviving him, five shares of the stock are to go to St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the remainder to be paid Margaret J. Causey, a niece, until she attains the age of forty years, at which time the trust will end and the full value paid to her. B. To the Farmers Bank of Nansemond, as trustee, 50 shares of stock of the A.B. Miner Co., Inc., or its equivalent, the net income to be paid Margaret J. Causey, a niece, until such time as she attains the age of 40 years, at which the trust will terminate and the full amount paid her. Provision is made that if Mrs. Causey should die without issue surviving, the trust is to go to Victor H. Browne, a nephew and his heirs. C. To the Farmers Bank of Nansemond, as trustee, the sum of $5,000, the net income to be used for the education, maintenance and support of Raleigh Martin. In the event of his death without surviving issue, the trust fund goes to the Diocese of Southern Virginia of the Protestant Episcopal Church to be used in caring for homeless boys and girls. D. Mrs. Henrietta Miner, a sister-in-law, is to be given the sum of $200 annually, so long as she may live, out of the income of the estate. Except for other cash gifts mentioned above, the residue of the estate, real, personal and mixed, is left to her sister, Mrs. Margaret W. Jordan.
