Cemetery: Clarkson, Fitzgerald, Jones Contributor: Vince E. Summers --------------------------------------------------- Three headstones - two in close proximity, and about 20 or 30 feet away a third: Location: Take Rt. 681 (near Jonesboro Church) to Persimmon Hill Drive. There is a sign saying Modoc Lane at this point. Turn into the new Persimmon Hill Development (there is a sign saying only owners are entitled to go up there), and go about 0.1 miles. On your left, on the hill sloping down, are the stones. Underbrush surrounds them, and there is no protection or effort to maintain the stones. The isolated one is chipped, though it could be repaired. The chipped stone is the oldest, but in excellent overall condition, no doubt due to the composition of the stone. Here are the inscriptions: The oldest: Joshua Jones Son of Thomas & Catharine Jones who was born January 28th, 1788 and departed this life March 16th, 1849 at the very bottom right of this stone are the two words...
