Thacker Cemetery Location: 5 miles north of Massie’s Mill on east slope of three Ridge mountains, take Route #56 at Massie’s Mill which soon takes the number of 655, follow this Route 2.5 miles to intersection of Route #680; turn right, cross Tye River on bridge; go 2 miles on this route to intersection of farm road from the left which spot is marked by a bridge on Maine highway; go about 3/8 mile on left hand road which winds its way to summit of high hill to burial ground which is about 30 feet square and enclosed with rock wall about 3 ft. high. Nelson County, Virginia DATE: About 1854. Meeks died July 19th, 1862 In the 15th year of his age In memory of Our beloved mother Sarah C. Meeks Who departed this life Octr. 6, 1857 Aged 63 years J.B. Gaddess Lynchburg In memory of Mary Catherine died Aug. 6, 1862 in the 10th year of her age Also Virginia Nelson who died 30 minutes after her sister in the 5th year of her age children of J.W.C. & Elouise M. Meeks These two children are buried in the same grave, and are sisters of the boy Walker Coleman Meeks, whose inscriptions is noted above.
