Harrower Cemetery Location: .1 mile north from Lovingston, Virginia on Route #29. Graveyard on west side of road. Nelson County, Virginia DATE: 1846. OWNERS: James Loving grant from the King of England early 1700’s Lunsford Loving 1812 C.T. Estes 1829 Henry Bibb and Company 1830 G.E. Caskie 1889 Peirce Loving 1889 Louis Frazie 1911 to 1919 L.G. Tucker 1919 to present (1937). The Loving’s and their descendants reserved the rights to the burial grounds. DESCRIPTION: Just across the road from the Old Loving Home is the Loving family graveyard. Situated on a sloping hill, with a high stone wall all around it, part of this wall has fallen down in the past few years. The small graveyard is now covered with bushes and briars, and a few old oak trees still remain. There are a good many graves in this small graveyard, but only a few have markers. Back of this graveyard, is where the slaves were buried, no markers there at all only old field rocks at the head and foot. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Captain Lunsford Loving was a Captain in the War of 1812. He is buried in this graveyard. Sacred to the memory of Margaret N. Loving Wife of Captn. R. wife of S. G. Perrow Born Aug. 18, 1815 Died May 12, 1846 Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord My Husband Pere W.
