Thacker Cemetery Location: This site is very hard to locate as it is in a very rough and densely grown up place. 4.5 miles northwest from Norwood, Virginia on Route #722. Take Route #655 at Norwood, go west 3.25 miles to intersection of Route #722 go north on this Route .75 mile to old Shipman place, then go .5 mile northwest through thick pines near foot of mountain. Nelson County, Virginia DATE: About 1845. OWNERS: (blank) DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is enclosed with a stone wall about 3 feet high and 12 to 14 inches thick. Some large stones were used, seems to have been a good job of masonry. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Tombstone inscriptions as follows: In memory of John Melton Died 20th June, 1847 Aged 61 yrs Willis Melton Son of J. & E.
