Thacker Cemetery Location: 4 miles northwest from Norwood, take Route #655 at Norwood, go west 3.25 miles to intersection of Route #722 go north on this Route .75 mile. Site is near big white frame house about 200 yards to west of highway. Nelson County, Virginia DATE: About 1852. OWNERS: (blank) DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is enclosed with a stone wall about three feet high and twelve to fourteen inches thick. Some large stones were used – a good job of masonry. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions are found in this cemetery: A tribute of affection Sallie E. Mitchell Born Nov. 13th, 1845 Died May 30th, 1867 Meet me in heaven. Gaddess Lynchburg Our mother sleeps here Blessed are the dead Which die in the Lord. Mrs. Sallie E. Agee Born December 20, 1833 Died February 7, 1883 Sacred to the memory of John Shipman Ser.
