DEED: Edmund J. Campbell Deed of Trust SOURCE: Nelson County Deed Book 13, Page 565 CONTRIBUTOR: Sylvia Ray -------------------------------------------------------------- This Indenture made this 2nd day of August 1853 between Edmund J. Campbell of the first part, and Charles N. Patterson of the other, witnesseth that the said Edmund J. Campbell is justly indebted to the said Floyd L. Whitehead, agent, in the sum of eleven dollars and seventy four cents with interest thereon from 1st September 1850 and to Floyd L. Whitehead, agent, in the sum of fifty four dollars and seventy five cents with interest from 1st September 1852, which debts he is desirous to secure and pay and to effectuate that purpose he makes this deed of trust whereby he transfers, conveys, and assigns to the said Charles N. Patterson as Trustee, the following property to wit: all the said Edmund J. Campbell's interest in the trust estate belonging to Francis Campbell and Nancy Campbell, one bay mare and her future increase, crop of tobacco now growing, crop of rye, three head of cattle, and the said Charles N. Patterson is hereby authorized to sell the same to the highest bidder for cash after giving ten days previous notice of the time and place of sale and from the proceeds of sale shall pay the said creditors and debts aforesaid with interest and costs of this deed if the property aforesaid sells for so much, if for more, shall pay the balance to the said Edmund J. Campbell or his order. In witness whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Edmund J.
