     We the Executors of the Estate of George Cox, deceased of the State of Tennessee and County of
Smith do certify that we have delivered to Dunmore Damron a Negro boy by the name of Morris about
thirteen years of age as part of his portion of said Estate fell to him by devisees.  Given under our hands
this 14th day of August, 1815

     I Robert Allen, Clerk of Smith County Court do hereby certify that the within Certificate was duly
acknowledged in open court by the parties thereto.  Witness my hand at office this 14th day of August
1815.

Nelson Co. to wit:

     This day Dunmore Damron personally appeared before us and of the Commonwealth Justices for
the county of Nelson and made (unreadable) that the Negro boy about thirteen years of age (by the 
name of Morris) that he received from his father-in-law George Cox estate in Smith Co. in the State of
Tennessee by the decisions of his said father-in-law which to the said Dunmore Damron has now 
brought into this State & County aforesaid.  On the 31st day of August 1815 was not brought into this
state for the purpose of selling nor with intentions to evade the laws for preventing the further 
importation of Slaves - Given under my hand this eight day of September 1815.

At Court held for Nelson Co. the 25th day of September 1815
     
     This Bill of Sale from the Executors of George Cox dec'd to Dunmore Damron was produced into
Court duly certified by the Clerk of Smith Co., State of Tennessee and ordered to be recorded and the
Affivdavit of Dunmore Damron made before John Mosby agreeable to an Act of Assembly in such
cases made and provided was also ordered to be recorded.
