DEED: John M. Camden to Daniel L. Wright, 1860 SOURCE: Nelson Co., VA Deed Book 16, Page 91 CONTRIBUTOR: Sylvia Ray --------------------------------------------------------- This deed made this 27th day of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty between John M. Camden and Lucy Ann his wife of the one part of the County of Amherst, and Daniel L. Wright of the other part of the County of Nelson, witnesseth that the said John M. Camden and Lucy Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars to them in hand paid by the said Daniel L. Wright the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said John M. Camden and Lucy Ann his wife have granted and do by these presents grant unto the said Daniel L. Wright all their interest, right and title as heirs at law of Benjamin Camden, deceased, in and to a certain tract, piece, or parcel of land being and lying in the County of Nelson on the waters of Mayfield's Creek or branch of which said Benjamin Camden, deceased, seized and possessed, and bounded as follows to wit: On the south and west by Daniel L. Wright and Nancy Wright, on the east by Washington Campbell's land, on the north by John F. Camden's lands, the said interest being one fourth part of said tract of land and the said John M. Camden and Lucy Ann his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant to and with the said Daniel L. Wright that they will warrant and forever defend unto the said Daniel L. Wright and his heirs and assigns a good and sufficient right and title in the hereby conveyed or intended to be interest in the tract of land aforesaid in fee simple from the claim or demand of all and every person whomsoever. Gannaway, a Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do certify that John M. Camden whose name is signed to the foregoing writing bearing date on the 27th day of February 1861, has acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid.
