Deed: Carr, 1841 Source: Nelson County VA Deed Bk 16, Pg 302 Contributor: Shirley Houk --------------------------------------------- This Deed made this 20th day of September 1841 between John Carr Sr of the County of Nelson and State of Va of the first and James W. Carr of the County and State aforesaid of the second witnesseth that whereas the said, John Carr Sr. has this day sold to James W. Carr and doth by these presence sell and deliver to the said James W Carr a certain track of land containing by survey fifty four acres adjoining land of Reuben Coffey, beginning on a red oak on the bank of the South fork of ty (sic) river and herein as the old field survey to have and to hold forever the rite (sic) whereof is free from all persons, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date above written. John Carr Sr {seal} Nelson County Court I Nathaniel Bowles a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid in the State of Virginian, do certify that John Carr Sr whose name is signed the written writing bearing date on the 20th day of September 1841 acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this 12th day of November 1864. Nath’l Bowles J.P. At a Court held for Nelson County the 23rd day of May 1864.
